Arrival by Plane
The Vienna Schwechat International Airport is approximately 20 km southeast of the city center. There are:

You will receive special conditions from Austrian Airlines for your journey to VASOM.
To the conference Venue:
You can reach the conference venue from the airport by taking the S7 in the direction of "Laa an der Thaya" to "Praterstern". There you take the U2 towards “Karlsplatz”. You leave the subway at "Schottentor" and take the trams 37,38,40,41 or 42 to "Spitalgasse / Währinger Straße".
Please note that Vienna Airport is located outside the core zone of Vienna and that you have to buy a ticket from the city limits to the airport in addition to the day ticket to buy. You can buy a (multiple) day ticket including airport transfer in the Wiener Linien online shop.

To the conference Venue:
From the main train station, leave the track at the "Karl-Popper-Strasse" exit and take the "D" line to the "Schottentor". There you take the tram 37, 38, 40, 41 or 42 to "Spitalgasse / Währinger Strasse".
From the Meidling train station, take the U6 towards "Florisdorf". At the "Währinger Straße / Volksoper" stop, take trams 37, 38, 40, 41 or 42 in the direction of "Schottentor" and drive to "Sensengassse".
Arrival by bus
Long-distance buses stop in Vienna either at the “Stadioncenter” or at the international bus terminal at Erdberg station. The way to the subway station is signposted at both stops.
To the conference location:
From the “Stadioncenter” you take the U2 towards “Karlsplatz”. You leave the subway at "Schottentor" and take the trams 37,38,40,41 or 42 to "Spitalgasse / Währinger Straße".
From “Erdberg” take the U6 towards “Ottakring” to the “Volkstheater” stop. There you take the U2 towards “Aspernstraße / Seestadt”. You leave the subway at "Schottentor" and take trams 37, 38, 40, 41 or 42 to "Spitalgasse".
Arrival by car
Follow one of the major highways to Vienna. Please expect heavy traffic during commuter times.
Parking in Vienna:
There is a good chance of parking spots in the Boltzmanngasse. Enter "Boltzmanngasse 2" in your navigation system. However, you have to buy parking tickets beforehand on your way through the city. This requires a so-called Trafik (tobacco shop), which you can recognize by the cigarette sign and the "Tabak Austria" lettering. A parking ticket is absolutely necessary - checks are carried out at least every hour.
A parking garage is available in the nearby university center for € 3.60 / hour and € 36 / day. Public parking spaces near the conference location are subject to short-term parking regulations (€ 2.10 / h from 9 am to 10 pm, max. 2 h parking).
Bike
You are also welcome to travel by bike, there are enough bike racks available around the University of Vienna.
